As I discussed before I will be sharing on and off some of the stories which I will find inspiring personally. Today I decided to share the story of a very famous and no doubt successful woman, “JK Rowling”. “Harry potter” a name not unknown to anyone growing up as adults we watched and waited for the next release of this movie based on novels wrote by her. I don’t need to further relate to her talent because for me this single example would be enough. Her story inspired in many ways from personal to professional each phase. I will be discussing her life events one by one to give you a better understanding of her achievements and her life problems.
She is a British novelist, philanthropist, screen writer and film and television producer. She is best known for writing the Harry Potter fantasy series. The books have won multiple awards, and sold more than 500 million copies, becoming the best-selling book series in history. She was born in Yate, Gloucestershire, England and started working as a researcher and bilingual secretary for Amnesty International meanwhile she came up with the idea of Harry Potter series on a delayed train from Manchester to London in 1990. Those seven years which were a continuous struggle for her were abandoned by the death of her mother, birth of her first child, divorce from her first husband and relative poverty until the first novel in the series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, was published in 1997. There were totalsix sequels of which the last Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows were released in 2007. She has written four books for adult readers, The Casual Vacancy in 2012 and the crime fiction novels, The Cuckoo’s Calling in 2013, The Silkworm in 2014 and Career of Evil in 2015. Rowling has lived a life, in which she progressed from living on state benefits to being the world’s first billionaire author. She lost her billionaire status after giving away a big part of her earnings to charities, but still remains one of the wealthiest people in the world. She is the United Kingdom’s bestselling living author, with sales in excess of £238M. The 2016 Sunday Times Rich Listestimated Rowling’s fortune at £600 million, ranking her as the joint 197th richest person in the UK.Time named her a runner-up for its 2007 Person of the Year, noting the social, moral, and political inspiration she has given her fans. In October 2010, Rowling was named the “Most Influential Woman in Britain” by leading magazine editors. She has supported charities, including Comic Relief, One Parent Families and Multiple Sclerosis Society of Great Britain, and launched her own charity,Lumos.Rowling has said that her teenage life was very unhappy. Her home life was complicated by her mother’s diagnosis with multiple sclerosisand a strained relationship with her father, with whom she is not on speaking terms.Rowling later said that she based the character of Hermione Granger on herself when she was eleven.Sean Harris, her best friend in the Upper Sixth, owned a turquoise Ford Anglia which she says inspired a flying version that appeared in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. After working as a researcher and bilingual secretary in London for Amnesty International, she moved with her then boyfriend to Manchester, where she worked at the Chamber of Commerce. In 1990, while she was on a four-hour-delayed train trip from Manchester to London, the idea about writing a story of a young boy attending a school of wizardry came into her mind. When she had reached her Clapham Junction flat, she began to write immediately. In December, Rowling’s mother, Anne, died after ten years suffering from multiple sclerosis. She was writing Harry Potter at the time and had never told her mother about it. Her mother’s death heavily affected her, and she portrayed her own feelings of sorrow by writing about Harry’s feeling of losing her mother.
